Mount Taranaki is best accessed via Egmont Road to North Egmont, Pembroke Rd at Stratford to East Egmont (Ngati Ruanui Stratford Mountain House) and Manaia Rd at Kaponga to Dawson Falls.

Pukekura Park

Often described as the jewel in New Plymouth’s crown, it covers 52 hectares right in the heart of New Plymouth and is one of New Zealand’s premier botanical gardens. It lights up over the summer period for the famous annual Festival of Lights. It has an international Green Flag award and is a Garden of National Significance

Brooklands Zoo

A free, family-focused zoo that is home to various farm animals as well as meerkats, oriental small-clawed otters, squirrel monkeys and a range of colourful birds that are housed in a walk through free-flight aviary.

Bowl of Brooklands

A unique venue in New Plymouth that features an impressive outdoor sound stage and a large grass amphitheatre within Pukekura Park. It is a spectacular venue for many great summer concerts and festivals such as WOMAD (World of Music, Arts and Dance), an event that attracts thousands of people from all over the world.

Offers walkers and hikers access to more than 300km of tracks that provide spectacular scenery of diverse alpine environments. Oakura Township and Beach

Located just a five minute drive from your New Plymouth luxury accommodation at Richmond Farm Lodge. Here you can enjoy sea views, safe swimming, surfing and nature walks. The township is home of many great New Zealand artists and crafts people. A selection of high quality local art, crafts, jewellery and gifts can also be viewed and purchased within the township.

Coastal Walkway

An award winning 11km path that forms an expansive sea-edge promenade stretching from Port Taranaki all the way to Hickford Park in Bell Block. The walkway is ideal for walking running cycling or skating or simply enjoying the view of the beautiful and dramatic West Coast. Along the route is Ngamotu Beach, Aquatic Centre/Kawaroa Park, Len Lye Wind Wand, East End and Fitzroy beaches and the iconic Te Rewa Rewa bridge (winner of 2011 Footbridge Bridge Award).
